Inquire2Empower Consulting is a new company devoted to providing quality learning opportunities for preschool to secondary aged children. I am a career educator, writer, social justice advocate, outdoor enthusiast and parent. I have devoted my time and energy to providing inquiry based opportunities for preschool to adult learners as a principal, teacher, reading methods instructor and preservice teacher educator at Simon Fraser University, as well as an adult education teacher instructor in China. I am passionate about ensuring that our children have access to the strategies and skills to nurture their mental health, physical health and intellectual engagement. I believe opportunities to collaborate provide multiple pathways to consider things from a fresh perspective and new learning.

Supporting and engaging in learning energizes me. I am actively involved in inquiry to stimulate my own curiosity and to engage learners. I am on the steering committee of Wild About Vancouver and the Institute for Environment Learning at Simon Fraser University. I am on the board of directors for the Promoting a Culture of Peace Non-Profit Society for Children. I am also the president of the British Columbia Literacy Council of the International Literacy Association reflecting a lifelong commitment to literacy development. I have been active in the the BC Principals Vice Principal’s Association supporting and solidifying my leadership skills, including but not limited to revising the BCPVPA leadership standards, facilitating leadership development sessions, and serving as the provincial rep on the Professional Learning Committee. My decision to retire early has left me with the time to focus on what matters to me most…

Supporting learners of all ages to ask questions,

fully engage in active learning

and pursue their goals.
